The project investigates holistic sustianable design and approach to building through the use of biocomposite materials. The material investigations for the project centre around using hemp or rapeseed as the material for the construction of spaces that will be used for the production of milled seaweed as animal fertilizer. Hemp is a natural material and is a breathable material meaning that it ab- sorbs and relases water vapour depending on climatic conditions, while also sequestering carbon from the atmophere throughout its lifetime. This means that using hemp in buildings is a great way to keep the spaces we occupy healthy.
